SPARKPEOPLE COMMITMENT

Today is my sparkanniversary I found Sparkpeople back in 2009 I really didn't know what it was about and how to use it. I would log in here and there through the years with no results or consistency. In 2016 I was at the most weight I had ever been I now had high blood pressure and not pre-diabetes I had diabetes and it was rising. All I could think of was my family tree and everyone that had diabetes and were giving themselves shot daily. Most of my family is deceased I have one uncle from my dads side who is over 70 yrs old and my aunt on my moms side who is over 80 yrs old. I was scared I had to do something and not just say it but actually do it. I went to nutrition classes and I got back on Sparkpeople and read everything I could to help me get healthier.

I am proud to say since 2016 I have lost 40 lbs my blood pressure is under control and I am no longer diabetic and a lot stronger. I have not reach my goal weight and am struggling with keeping consistent with meals and exercise. I take one day at a time and I don't give up.
I am grateful for all the people I have met and the teams I have joined. I have even become a leader for the 5% Challenge Community( WRJ&G) Team. I use a lot of the Sparks Recipes and read the inspiring articles, community feeds & blogs. Sparkpeople is a great support group for weight loss. It feels like family to me. I always recommend Sparkpeople to people I talk to.
