The pool is filled and is awaiting a good cleaning and shock.

The sand filter and pump were hooked up around 4 PM yesterday. It took until about midnight for it to fill with water.
It is ready to be vacuumed. I had hubby buy two containers of floc since there is stuff floating on the surface from our son dumping in shock when the water couldn't circulate. Hopefully, it will be an easy fix this year. I saved a lot of money and labor (weekly cleaning) by waiting until it was hot to open the pool.
Hubby probably won't get in it. He insists that the water be 84 degrees or warmer and the neighbor's 60 foot maple on the fence line, blocks the Sun from warming the water. I'll try to make the best of it. The pool deck was cut in the shape of the pool and hubby doesn't want me to try to get rid of the pool because he doesn't know how to fix the deck. He never wanted a pool and wanted the sellers to remove it when we bought the house in 2008.
Our son wanted the pool and said he would pay for the chemicals. Well, the cost for chemicals fell on me. Anyway, it is what it is and I get tired of hearing about it from my husband. I like to get in it and there is nothing more relaxing than coming out after swimming, showering, and then going to sleep. It is a great relaxer for aches and pains caused by arthritis. I don't know how it does it, but it takes out any inflammation around my ankles and in my feet.
