I caught a feeling....

Monday, July 16, 2018

I'm feeling it and it's all my dogs fault. Max is my bff, a 2 yr old Black Lab. Since he is a big dog I know he needs more exercise than smaller dogs I usually have. So I feel guilty on days I don't walk him. I don't like the neighborhood I live in and there is more often than not a dog on the loose. So I usually take him on a trail.
When I first get up I'm like forget it, not walking today! But by the time I move around and get some coffee in me and I've been up for a couple hours I get that feeling. And Max knows it. He starts hanging around at my feet more, sometimes giving a little whine here and there.
Typically I have a cup of coffee and tidy up a little and get on pintrest and make notes in my journal.
He also knows the exact moment I have decided to get ready to go. From the moment I finish my coffee and brush my teeth. He knows the ritual has begun, lol. He will follow me around getting more and more excited as I get out my 'outfit'. He knows the difference in work clothes, lazy clothes, sleeping clothes, and walking Max clothes. He will sniff each piece of clothing starting with a wag of the tale to the full butt wag. And more whining and the I want to jump up and get all in your face, but I can't because then it takes longer to leave.
When I get out the go for a walk bag and start loading it he gets even more excited.
On days, usually my day off, when the feeling doesn't hit so early or sometimes I've started some task and haven't stopped Max'll let me know. And if I let yesterdays walking clothes out he'll walk by sniffing at them and whining.
He's a smart dog and keeps me on track. I walk him often but not every day, which I hope to change. Today will be day 8 in a row.

That is pretty funny, max sniffing your walking clothes to let you know it's time! Dogs are so smart, motivating & loving. They make the best best friend friend.
