A bad effect from stress

I am just 3 classes away from finishing my Associate’s degree in Computer Applications, so decided to do the Algebra course over the summer, and the remaining 2 computer classes I would take for the fall semester. I knew the summer would be busy w that, but for the first three weeks almost every waking moment that I was not taking care of personal needs or working, I was doing that. Since it has been many years since I was in school, it took a while for things to be recalled. What did not help was that the first three weeks she rammed us thru a minimum of 2 chapters per week, leaving 4 chapters for the last 5 weeks. I was getting very frustrated and ready to give up the class because of many factors: the super fast pace while working a 40 hour job, the lack of communication from the teacher about schedule changes, no down time to relax, among other personal things. Well, the end of June, it all came to a head!
I woke up one Tuesday morning and an area of my head HURT without touching it. I called in sick to work and made an appt w a dr I see regularly. After examining, she said it was out of her realm, and I should get a referral to a dermatologist because the area had swelling and the spots when pressed on is when I said it hurt more.
I got in to the dermatologist two days later. The pain and swelling had greatly subsided. After some questions and ruling out bug bite because the would not have cleared up that quickly, with a final conclusion of shingles. Turns out some medications will actually dull some of that pain too, thus the sudden pain onset after I went into stress overload.
It seemed to be healing well with having hubby put coconut oil on it every night before bed. Last weekend I did not have him continue because it was looking so good. Well, by Tuesday it was starting to bother, and Wednesday night he said there were a bunch of scabs again. So I have been steeping some lemon balms leaves and putting a damp cloth of that on the area for the past two days. Over the weekend I am planning to put some cayenne pepper paste on the area .
I have two weeks left of the class so I will be so glad when that is done. It definitely made me more aware that I need to watch my stress level and to say no before I am feeling like I am stressed. I am really hoping in the next two weeks to get the shingles under control. I am also going to be working adjusting my diet some, which hopefully will facilitate weight loss.
Life definitely gets crazy, and can throw major curve balls.
