The Past 10 Days - Exercise was good - Eating was bad
Monday, August 27, 2018
Well the past 10 days have been very hectic for me. The good thing being that I have managed to keep up my exercise regimen unchanged - My morning walk where I get at least 4000 steps it takes up almost 45 to 60 minutes of my time and then half-an-hour of chair yoga and physio therapy. Today is the day when my physical therapist visits me to check on my progress and change or alter my exercises for me, so he has given me 3 new ankle and shoulder exercises.
Well I can't say the same about my diet, with Bakrid (our annual festival) where we offer lamb and then make preparations out of it, so i guess I exceeded my calorie limit from the 22nd to the 24th. Then the sweets and all the visiting relatives had me tired out. We did have a lovely celebration with all my sons and their families who had lunch with us and then my brothers and families came over for evening tea and then my eldest daughter and family came over for dinner. On thursday we had other cousins, nieces and nephews visiting us for the festival and on Friday we started early and headed off to Kanpur to visit my Husband's eldest and only surviving sister. Zulekha Aapa as we call her is a sprightly 94 year old and though slightly bent with age is active and the proverbial matriarch lording over her brood of 3 sons and a widowed daughter all living with her and their clan of children and grands. Its always a joy to visit them and see so much of love and respect that they shower on us. Well Kanpur is a 2 hour drive and was completely exhausted by the time we got back.
On Saturday our second daughter with her husband and 2 sons and their families about 10 of them flew in from Delhi to spend the weekend with us, They left last night and I am still recovering from the hectic week of Bakrid and its aftermath. Well it is time now to get on track with the food.
Also please continue to pray for the flood victims across our country. Closer home the river Ganges has also crossed the danger mark. May Allah shower his mercy on us.
