To do or not to do . . .
what a question!

I have been quietly active on SparkPeople since I joined back in 2011. I have been keeping track of my food intake, exercise, water intake, etc and have strived to keep up with daily logins and quietly looking over and reading people's posts and such.

Last month I decided to "go rogue" and joined an online 30-day clean eating challenge and decided to NOT count calories or keep track of my food intake on my SparkPeople or MyFitnessPal food journals. The plan I followed had specific foods to make, along with recipes, exercise and meditations for each day. I must admit that I had a REALLY hard time not journaling my calories - I'd been doing it for over 7 years at this point. EVERY day, rain or shine, for over 7 years. I'd have to say that it had definitely become a habit at this point.

During those 30 days, I just had to eat clean, which I did for the most part, even though I went on vacation 7.5 hours away and spent time at a lake and on a boat fishing. That was a little hard but we were in a cabin with a kitchenette and small fridge and I took a lot of my own food along for meals and snacks.

It's really hard to make everything from scratch, cook healthy, eat 3 meals and 3 snacks a day and vacation! Over those 30 days I lost 9.2 pounds and about 7.5 inches overall. I've decided to continue the plan for a while and see if I can continue to lose and shape up. I feel tons better and look amazingly healthy and radiant at this point.

I will continue to Spark daily, I'm not going to log my food journals (but it's still really hard!) and I am going to see where this road takes me.

SparkPeople has been such a joy to interact with. I love the people that I've "MET" here and consider so many of you close friends, though most are virtual friends.
