I don't seem to have the discipline to avoid foods that are bad for me because they're unhealthy, but SparkPeople's SparkPoints system has kept me motivated and pushing ahead. I like earning achievements in games, and the SparkPoints feel and act enough like a game to keep me involved and focused. I read Spark articles for 5 points each, but the articles are proving to be useful and the info pops back up in my head at the right times for me to use it.
The past few days, there hasn't been any soda or junk food in my house. All snacks have been healthy. I've had the kids helping me prepare meals, and sitting down to eat dinner as a family. I still find myself eating at my desk on the computer when I'm writing, but I've broken the habit of eating in front of the TV,
I feel like I can really reach my goals this time. I'm hopeful. :)
