Hi! Thanks for reading my blog. My story began 10 years ago, when a stupid home project went array and I had to go to Urgent Care. As I was bleeding they wanted to be thorough AND WEIGHED ME! I saw 280 on the scale that evening and the next day, I went out and bought my own just to grasp my real naked weight. 277.6! HS! Through the years diet and exercise my roller coaster began, I am a severe binge eater and emotional eater. I own it. Never saw past the 190's before I needed to reset the good behaviors I learned and practiced.

The 3rd time, was when my stepfather passed away and the bitter emotions of what was going on was derailing me, AGAIN! A year prior I had seen a flyer for a brand new marathon coming to town but thought nothing about it. That year was different, I saw what non-discipline had done to me again and after the 2012 Portland Marathon, I signed up for the 2013 Portland Half Marathon. I had an entire year to lose weight, train set myself up for some permanent habits.

Three months before October 2013, I still weighed too much! I bought a gym membership and tried some classes. The day of my first half marathon I was 238.8! Still a bit big but very determined to finish and not be the last one. As you can see, I finished

To date, I have finished 23 half marathons, 3 full marathons and numerous other races. However, yesterday, I did something I had only recently dreamed about...i finished my first 50K Ultra Marathon! Will this be my first and last? Doubtfully!

Just stayed determined, fight through your struggles find solutions, and DO YOUR DREAMS!
