Therapy and JUST DOING IT

First off, I want to thank everyone who offered their love, prayers, and support after my last blog post. Things are still rough, but it seems to be getting easier with each day.


Going back to therapy has been a helpful and insightful experience for me.

My therapist will usually give me "homework" to do between sessions. This week, it was to identify my coping skills. After coming up with my own list (which was mostly unhealthy coping mechanisms), I asked my fiance for his input. Together we identified some positive coping skills I had used in the past, and some new things I should try in the future. This conversation opened up into a discussion of other things that he and I need to work on, both individually and as a couple. This conversation was really insightful, and I hope that it will help to keep me on track with improving myself and my life.


Another thing I need to do is start focusing on NOW rather than later. For many things in my life there will never be a "perfect" time, so I just need to DO IT! Even though I don't feel like I'm ready, there are some things I WILL start regardless!

I'm going to start taking some classes early next year. They're not for a career or a degree, they're just skills I want to learn!

I'm going to work on building my art business.

I'm going to get more serious about wedding planning. We don't have a date yet, but I really want to start the preliminary stuff.
