Happy New Year!

Sunday, December 30, 2018

Well... it's that time of year again. Time to reflect and move forward with a solid plan.

This was a tough year. Last year was a tough year. I'm REALLY hoping 2019 is good.

I lost about 20 lbs at the end of 2017 due to stress. I fluctuated this year, but I think I'm still going to end up about 5 or so lbs higher than I started the year. So.. not a win, but 5 lbs is better than 20 lbs!

I usually do a "word" of the year. I'm praying over my word right now. I "think" I know what it is, but I just want to make sure.

2019 Changes:

Faith: I've recently started to read a proverbs a day. I needed something "easy" to get back to a daily habit of spending time with God. I'm going to try to keep that going and reading a "Christian Living" book a month.

Marriage: I need to be more purposeful with my marriage. I think DH & I need to start date nights again. Planned time together. We're really bad about going off to our own spaces in the evenings and not spending much time together. Don't get me wrong... we like each other, we're just also introverts who really like our alone time.

Health: I'm going to get back to doing Pilates. I joined a online "membership" last year that I really enjoy and when I am consistent , I can really tell a difference. In fact, that's also when I get the most comments from friends. I'm still going to run, but take it easier and do shorter distances. Maybe even just do time (run for 20 min... not 1 or 2 miles). But, most importantly, I'm going to stick to keto. I would really like to drop about 30 lbs this year. That will put me in the "overweight" range as far as my BMI is concerned. I've been in the obese range for almost 15 years.

Home: I'd like to get back to being more organized at home. I was following fly lady for quite awhile, but I need to get back to building up those habits.

Budget: Following Dave Ramsey we've done pretty well. Our goal for this year is to pay off our last credit card and our student loans!

Career: I was laid off a few weeks ago, so no matter what... I'll have a new job in 2019. Since I haven't liked my job in a long time, that's a pretty big blessing in "disguise" .

Happy New Year's! emoticon
