I'm back and ready!

Friends, it’s been almost a year since my last blog. There’s been a lot to happen in that year. A lot of it good, so that’s my focus.
I’m still working to overcome depression and anxiety, but I have made lots of progress in that area. I’m on medications that are working well for me. I see a psychiatrist regularly. I am very happy to be in a better place than I was. I am optimistic about getting even better as time goes on.
I’ve changed my diet and am now happily vegan. It’s been almost a year since I’ve made the switch. I am enjoying the diet and lifestyle changes I’ve implemented on this part of my health journey. My body does so much better with lots of plants and no animal products, so I’m going to stick with it further. I also try to use products that are environmentally friendly and not tested on animals/cruelty-free.
Unfortunately, I have not lost any weight being vegan. I envy the people that lose a bunch of weight when they do, but that was definitely not me! I didn’t expect to, though, so I’m not disappointed. It wasn’t the reason I went vegan anyway. I do need to get back to exercising regularly and cutting out sugar & fast food. The struggle is very real there as my anxiety leaves me pretty wiped out (as well as a few of the medications I take) and I get very “lazy” very easily. Cooking is quite an effort sometimes. Getting to the gym is a monumental task, comparatively speaking.
However, both of those are manageable issues and I am also optimistic that I can overcome them. I’ve been in a position of success before and I know exactly what it is I need to do. That’s why I’m back.
