1 Week Back
Wednesday, January 09, 2019
Well, I've officially been back a full week.
In that time I've not made it to the gym, but I've been struggling with a few things this past week that made my anxiety and depression go a little bit off the charts. On Friday I took my new kitties to the vet for a check up. I was dreading it for a few days prior. It's not easy getting cats in carriers and loading them into a car to go cross-town. It stresses them out, it stresses ME out, and it sorta deteriorates any trust you'd built with them (considering I'd only had them for 2 weeks, it was kinda a big deal). The day of I was a mess. My anxiety was ramped up so much! So so much that I forgot to take my meds that day, so it was made 10x worse!!! Both kitties needed an antibiotic shot, too, so that was ugh. I was also planning a one night trip to San Diego that night for my birthday. We were trying to get out the door to get to a vegan festival that started at 6 p.m. That was added stress.
Then, my bleepity blank "father" decided to have a child-like temper tantrum over a financial mistake HE made but is blaming ME for. That was on my actual birthday, which was Sunday, so we were arguing all day. It made for a pretty miserable birthday and I ended spending my day at church with tears constantly streaming from my eyes. I wasn't hurt, I was just freaking angry. Very typical of him though... nothing is ever his fault or his problem. He doesn't have a spine to accept responsibility for any of his actions. F him.
Birthday 2.0 was better, with a breakfast with my coworkers and fun gifts, embarrassing balloons, and a good time.
Today I have a Holter monitor on to check on my heart condition. I'll be wearing it for 24 hours, so no gym (I can't shower with it on, so...). I've also got a LOT of stuff going on at work this week and weekend, so I hope next week I can get back to the gym. I need to start burning off what I'm taking it.
The week wasn't a total loss, either. I've been tracking my food via a paper/pen method. So old school, I know! Then, when I've got a chance, I've been adding to the Spark Food Tracker. I can already see some patterns emerging. I'm okay with staying in range, but that won't do me any good if I'm not burning calories, too. Weight loss requires both! So, anyway, successful tracking. Not successful exercising. We shall see what the next week brings!
