Move that butt

I've been a slacker on the 15 minutes per day exercising.

Today I did it! 1.5 minutes climbing down and up basement steps; 7 minutes on the Cubii (small floor machine - you sit in a chair and peddle your feet around); 7 minutes doing Beginning Workout for Morbidly Obese.

I'm going to keep doing the basement steps. I went down and up once, very slowly. I don't need to go down there, so the steps are not a regular occurrence for me.

There is a wealth of exercise info on this site. I'm just cracking the surface. I just saw a chair cardio workout I bookmarked.

I'm retired, so it's easy for me to be very sedentary.

A couple years ago I started doing side leg lifts in bed. I'm going to start those up again. It was amazing how quickly I built up the reps I could do. I had forgotten about them.

My big motivator this time around is knowing that short bursts of exercise throughout the day help; you don't have to do a marathon in one episode.

Right now I have the ability to walk outside about 6 houses down and back, and that's with a walker. Watch out, world.
