Where does my joy come from today....
..... I was the early bird at work today. At 7 am I danced into the building determined to make this the best day ever. At 7:20 am the phone lines fried. And I mean the ENTIRE hospital phone system and the internet was down too. My hospital manager and I were crawling around the server room with my cell phone on loud speaker guided by a lovely gentleman from the LA support office. After some unplugging and replugging I went back to the front desk to spread the cheer there. We had one girl call in and my little side kick trainee braved the elements with me with smiles and a welcoming attitude. Although this might seem silly, I had a fantastic day. Being able to spread calm and encouragement all through the veterinary clinic to my frantic co workers, making them laugh and telling them how to manage "old fashioned" style working with no computers was pretty fun. We involved our Facebook page to reach out to clients, I used my own cell phone to call some older clients (who I knew would not abuse having my personal phone number) and called medications for patients into pharmacies. I work with such a great team now, it is amazing to see how everyone comes together in a crisis and keeps up the good mood and the team spirit.
.....hubby figured out a better way to run the hose out the side basement window to pump the sump. It is so much easier. We are also going to have some warmer weather coming, at least above freezing, so I have high hopes that the frozen pipe with just thaw out and things will get back to normal. Joy? I am so thankful that once in a while I am getting reminded how much we all live in luxury compared to the majority of people in the world. Little stumbling blocks always feel like an extra hug from my best buddy Jesus and a reminder to just spread more love into the world.
..... my little old Oodle Bunny ate a whole can of her dog food when I came home. She just kept asking for more. I am trying to get a little more weight on her frail little senior self. She was in such a good mood that she kept coming into my room while doing Yoga and did play bows every time I did downward facing dog lol. Yoga Oodle.
