The neurologist convinced me to go to an ENT about my snoring. So we went today. I guess I should have known it was not going to be a good day after my cat peed in my pants in the bathroom. It was a warning that things were not going to go well today. The ENT came in, took one look at me, and started his lecture. Most people with sleep apnea are fat. Fat people are more likely to have high blood pressure and diabetes. If you have sleep apnea you need to lose weight. Then he looked in my mouth, but not my nose. That’s it. Stop eating grains and lose weight. Do all doctors assume that you don’t know that you’re fat and that it hurts your health? Do they all believe you have never tried to lose weight? Or that you don’t want to lose weight? Obviously you must never get off your butt and do things. Thanks for telling me something I’ve known since I was a teenager. If it were as easy as you seem to think it is I would be a rail by now. Even if it were just a tad easier thousands of people would never have gotten fat in the first place. I guess if people stopped being fat that doctor, and a bunch more, would go out of business.
