Day 40 - passed on the Chinese delivery....

Thursday, January 31, 2019

Had a rather good day, besides leaving work in a not so great mood, but got over it on the drive home.

All day meetings today and catered Chinese lunch (Pei Wei). 41 days ago, I would have been all over this, getting 3000 calories in one seating, trying not to fall asleep about an hour later from the blood sugar drop. Today, I cam prepared with my brown bagged lunch, and enjoyed my 3 soft boiled eggs and pork rinds.

I also paid special attention to how the food affected me. The food was set up in the meeting room, so the first thing was the smell hitting me. In the past, that would have set me off on a food binge, but I recognized it as a craving, as “appetite”, not hunger. I am in a good place now, so it wasn’t too difficult to stay away and focus on my simpler, healthier (for me) meal, but I would lie if I wouldn’t admit that my mind started racing and I was craving the food, wishing for my superpower to be a super metabolism. Then the food stayed out for the next couple of hours, and I found myself glancing over, reminding myself that I can stay away from that, that I know better and this is simply a choice. I am in control of my choices and I chose not to load myself with carbs.

I have too admit I am proud of myself that I have been able to go for 40 days without slipping up. I still feel super positive about the changes I am making and plan to add a layer of exercise soon. 5 days smoke free, and I am doing good with the cravings.

Need to focus on dealing with workload, stress and productive output at work. Need to manage my procrastination as well. That’ll make it easier and reduce the stress, but may be a couple of months away from that. My ability to focus has been getting a lot better, and by next week I expect the cigarette cravings to ease and should improve my focus even more.

So far so good. Staying positive. Doing the right things, even when no-one is looking....😀

Day 40 - 33.4 lbs down - only 166.6 lbs or 560 days to go to 225 lbs
5 day smoke free!!!
