What I'm doing right in the BLC.

The things I'm doing right during this BLC:

1) I'm charting my nutrition and steps on an almost daily basis on both Sparkpeople and in a personal diet journal. This helps to keep me on task and accountable to myself.

2) I talk to my mom almost daily about my weight and what I had to eat. We talk to each other about what we had for each meal during the day and how many calories we had. She is basically on the same idea about charting calories as I am, but not using Sparkpeople or any other website. She just does calories in a journal. This keeps me accountable to another person as well as to myself.

3) I attend TOPS meeting. I go to my TOPS meeting on Thursdays whenever they are held. The last 3 weeks they have been cancelled due to the weather, but we might have one in the coming up week, if the weather gets better. The meeting is full of older women, with one man. I am the youngest person there. Everyone is super nice and I feel very welcome. They always make me feel good, even when I gain weight. It just makes me want to work harder at losing it for the next week. My mom joined me in TOPS this last September. Just recently she learned to love the group as much as I do. This keeps me accountable to others as well as to myself.

I guess the best thing that I have done different with this BLC is to make myself accountable in many different ways. One way is definitely not enough for me.
