There is no magic

So many different "diets" claim to be a magic potion to all our woes. In the end, it boils down to getting enough sleep, drinking enough water, making healthy food choices and making movement a part of your lifestyle.
Why is it then, I still jump on the magic train? A former student of mine lost over 100 pounds on the keto diet. I bought the book she recommended, read it, and it sounded like my life struggle. So, in trying it, with so little fiber and so little even healthy carbs, I did lose weight. And my blood sugar stabilized for at least a week. But now, it is all over the place again, even though I am still trying this program.
Silly me; pinning magic back on again, and realizing there is none.
So back to the common sense. No "diet" is magic. Back to adding more movement, and adding healthy carbs, proteins, healthier fats back into my day. Bacon....as delicious as you are, too much of a tasty thing is really a mistake.
Feeling contrite. Feeling motivated to change my lifestyle instead of my "diet".
