We hada a great time and great food but the next day I was back up 2 pounds. Now I'm really going to try to rein things in!

Between the MSG and the soy sauce, Chinese food can definitely cause water weight gain. Drink tons of water, eat well, and give it a few days.

Couldn't that just be water weight? Or bloating from MSG, caffeine, or alcoholic drinks or plain old salt? I would step up my exercise rather than worry about 2 lbs because of eating. The word "starvation" scares the crap out of me, it reminds me of anorexia or concentration camps or TV commercials asking for $ for starving children in African countries. Whatever you are doing, I hope it is not harming your health! Best of luck to you in your efforts.

Probably sodium related water retention from the food. MSG will do it too me too which is often used in Chinese food.

Get back on track and it will eventually come back down. But, don't starve yourself. Please. emoticon

I love Asian food too and it always kicks up my weight. I think some of it is the sodium! At least that's what I tell myself. Good luck to you!

Don't let it get you down. Sometimes a cheat day actually prevents your metabolism from slowing down. IMO
