Thirteen days restaurant free and I'm feeling good! Usually I struggle pretty hard going restaurant free but my husband is embracing the idea as well. (though he's eating out at work, but still no restaurants on nights and weekends for him is a big step!)
I just wanted to showcase a few items I would usually eat at restaurants that I'm making more healthy and eating at home.
Cincinnati Style Chili - 4 Way (chili over spaghetti, with onions and cheddar cheese)
I've done this a few times lately, one time over spaghetti and the other times over butternut squash noodles to make it even more healthy!
Avocado Toast with Poached Eggs
This is one of my go to's when brunching. I enjoy doing it at home for weekend brunch and again this morning for breakfast!
The amazing movie theater we go to has some absolutely wonderful food. One of my favorites is this salad that they also offer as a wrap. It has kale, almond, dry cranberries, avocado, goat cheese, asparagus, chickpeas and ranch dressing. I crave it and sometimes order it at work on doordash. Today I packed a variation of it instead!
I used to make Pad Thai all of the time. My husband has been BEGGING for it lately so Monday night I made up a big batch of an old favorite! DH orders Pad Thai at almost every Asian restaurant we go to and he's a pretty smart guy. He told me the other night that very few Pad Thai's rival my home cooked version!
Are there any restaurant foods that you love cooking at home to save money, calories and keep yourself on track?
