Vacation Inspiration!

Friday, March 22, 2019

For those of you who follow me, vacation is something DH and I absolutely love. We've made it a priority to travel together and to really spend time relaxing and enjoying new places and each other. Because we made that a priority, since our honeymoon (the first time I was out of country and the first time my husband had been anywhere other than Canada) we started traveling once a year. In 2018 I pushed going on a second trip and DH eventually obliged. Who would have thought it would take some arm twisting to get someone to go to the Caribbean more than once a year? emoticon

Our first trip for 2019 is to Punta Cana. We have never been there before but have always discussed it in the past. We did 2 all inclusive trips (our first) last year and decided that doing all inclusive again would be very beneficial for us. I do tons of planning and research and book early. That's one of the reasons we can afford to do more than one. We booked back in January and now it's so close. Only 35 more days!

Yes I have a countdown on my computer. That's perfectly normal, right?

The other inspiration I have on my computer is this picture (which is from the resort we are going to) is the background to my laptop.

Like most people, at the New Year I realized that I had lost some focus over the end of 2018 and put on quite a few lbs. I spent January recommitting myself. I allowed myself not to step on the scale to keep myself from getting frustrated. At the end of January, I was ready to weigh myself and commit to a weight loss goal tied to our vacation. I weighed myself on January 25th and the result was 133.8lbs. That's not a terrible weight for me, but it definitely meant that I was right that I had let things go and that after a month of effort, I was about 10 lbs away from where I'd like to be.

If you look at my chart from my weigh in's, at the beginning of April last year I was at 123 lbs - which is 3 short lbs away from my ultimate goal weight. It's my hopes to be back to that again before vacation - so I set a goal of losing 10 lbs by vacation. I've been pretty focused, but not perfect for sure. Well Friday is weigh in day!

Well today went well! I lost 1.6 lbs and broke back in to the 120s! I feel great about how my body is looking, I feel great about how my workouts are going and I'm confident that I'm on track to meet my goal in time for Punta Cana!

I ordered some new gear to wear and they are definitely inspiration to work my hardest these last 35 days!

Happy Friday everyone! What is your inspiration today?

You've worked very hard & it's great to see the results!

I have an oh so sweet dog who waits for me to come get her for a walk every morning (not one of mine; she belongs to a friend).
I set a Lent exercise goal of 12,000 or more steps per day, and 20 flights of stairs every day. So far, so good.
April 1 will be ONE YEAR of 10,000+ steps a day emoticon

    Love your vacay clothes!
