Mexico Vacay + Walmart Grocery PickUp= Diet

Tuesday, April 02, 2019

I always said that if I had a personal cook or a buffet where I could have whatever I wanted easily that I would eat healthier, be healthier and lose weight.
Well, I went to Mexico for 5 days, valentines week and lost five pounds. We stayed at an all-inclusive resort. My favorite restaurant was a buffet, generally for breakfast, then a small lunch and a small dinner. I didn't drink much alcohol so I drank a lot of water, in bottles.
The week I came back though I ate stupid and gained it back. I had realized how easy it was if I had the right things in front of me. I had also been using the Walmart grocery pick up a bit but hadn't been very good at the whole planning ahead thing or forgetting some things and having to go in anyway.
I had got frustrated when I noticed how I just returned to the old bad habits when I would clearly eat healthy food if it was just right there. So surely I could make this easier. I don't like to shop and half the time when I'm in the store I don't get half my list but get plenty of other crap.
I get free lunch at work m-f and it's plenty to be my big meal of the day. So I started using Walmart grocery pickup. Ordering fruit, yogurt, PB, and a gallon of chocolate milk to be my breakfast which I actually take to work. So I kinda have a brunch kinda thing because there are only about two maybe three hours between breakfast and lunch.
Sweets are what I have the biggest problem with. If I had a bad day or wanted to celebrate or was sick the I needed sweets and a lot of them. A pint of ice cream, a donut, a candy bar, and a few cookies.
Ever since I started this new grocery pickup it's been easy. Although I think I'm still eating too many calories sometimes and not all are the best choices. And sometimes I still "binge" but now it's like a bowl of cereal, carrots with PB, and then yogurt or pudding. In proper portions.
Now it's time to tighten up a few things. Make sure I'm drinking more water and start counting my calories and tracking weight and measurements. I joined a free step bet a few weeks ago and decided to join a paying one also so that's keeping me aware that I keep moving until my steps are in. Sometimes I'm dancing around my house trying to get in the last thousand steps.
Out of the last five weeks, I've only had three sweet treats and none for the last two weeks and three days!! And I didn't have to try very hard and I went through my lady time without crazy cravings! I think I might be on track!!
