Does writing a blog help you stay on track?

Thursday, May 16, 2019

I have been wondering over the last two weeks if writing a blog helps with eating behavior???

Our family is going through an exciting time. It has come with stress of change, but change for the good. Many of you have already had children graduate high school. Our daughter is graduating high school. She graduated community college last weekend. It was an exciting time and still is. She is happy and stressed all at the same time. Tomorrow is the last exam for her. So, Yay!

My eating habits have been stress filled. I ate plant based for 2 weeks and lost a lot of weight during that time. Then, the state fishing tournament for our son sent me eating stuff I shouldn't and that escalated to more poor food choices.

I wonder if blogging my feelings would have helped to destress, declutter my thoughts???

What are your thoughts????

It helps me when I do a food blog and actually post what I've eaten.

PS, I was talking about my own blog entries, not yours! 😝

I’m confused about whether it helps or hurts or is neutral. I find myself reading and thinking “This is really boring, albeit grammatically correct.” I would love to write profound things, but that isn’t me.

I think it is helpful to keep a journal to jot down my feelings. A place where I can express myself.. I also found for me it is best to do that in a private journal.Ina blog your more likely to be judged by people that have no clue what you are talking about. Or what they are talking about either)

blogging is sometimes is the only way I can focus, then I usually delete it ! I do keep a pen & paper diary (limited space daily, not a long winded journal) tucked away for my eyes only about life - and I count calories on a eraser board...I don't do a food journal, but I often post in community feed any ups or downs on my spark journey if I want immediate feedback

I've only blogged a couple of times myself and the reason was for my own peace of mind. It just helped to express what was happening and it made me feel better.

I know it helps me with the mental side of things.

Honest tracking is a good way to track eating habits...but sometimes doing a blog just is like uncapping a soda that has been shaken. It lets off the pressure! If there are things you just need to let out without anyone else viewing there is a place for a private journal. Or if you want feed back/support/ideas on stuff then a blog is often a great answer. Of course meal planning is ideal for any eating plan..but ahhhhh we are all human and all things as planned do not always turn out that way!

Getting things down in black-n-white, whether it's a private journal or blogging, definitely helps! Congratulation to your DD.

I feel more freedom if I use my journal to jot down my feelings, good and bad and safe from prying eyes. Blogs are great for tracking and goal setting. If there is a friend who's opinion I really want I would send them a spark mail!

Blogging is good over a period of time, not really day to day. It's a process in which you may discover solutions, patterns, and areas to improve. Members may also have suggestions that help. Sometimes it's just good to put your feelings down and express them. It helps overall.

It definitely helps me to declutter my thoughts! I haven't been blogging publicly, but I just started blogging here today to help keep myself more accountable.
