Does writing a blog help you stay on track?

I have been wondering over the last two weeks if writing a blog helps with eating behavior???
Our family is going through an exciting time. It has come with stress of change, but change for the good. Many of you have already had children graduate high school. Our daughter is graduating high school. She graduated community college last weekend. It was an exciting time and still is. She is happy and stressed all at the same time. Tomorrow is the last exam for her. So, Yay!
My eating habits have been stress filled. I ate plant based for 2 weeks and lost a lot of weight during that time. Then, the state fishing tournament for our son sent me eating stuff I shouldn't and that escalated to more poor food choices.
I wonder if blogging my feelings would have helped to destress, declutter my thoughts???
