SISTER UPDATE --- THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!!

Saturday, July 06, 2019

To update --- my sister has found a place to stay. When she went through what passes for social services, the landlord refused to work with them. She found someone who'd had their power shut off, and the person's brother was able to pay to have it turned back on. So that's where she is for the time being. Thank you very much for all the well wishes and assistance! They were all very very much appreciated!!!

This has not been an easy week. Before DS2 came over to put in the bedroom air conditioner on Wednesday, SweetieOfStar found what he thought was a wasp nest the size of half his fist on the thermal curtain in our bedroom! Fortunately, it wasn't, but to say that I was dumbfounded is like comparing a pebble to Mount Rainier. It was a different type of nest that DS2 had never seen, filled with dead spiders. Ugh! Shiverrrrr!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

On the 4th, of course the neighborhood had fireworks. SweetieOfStar has PTSD. He had a firework go off under his chair when he was younger. Over the years, he's gotten much much much better with the smaller fireworks. But the bigger ones bring on the shakes and sweats.

Today SweetieOfStar thought he had an appointment at the V.A. so he drove by himself, but they said not until the 9th. He went over the E.R. there because he's had a very nasty migraine for the last 3 days. Then I had to find a ride to the V.A. because the meds they gave him wouldn't permit him to drive home.

Right now it's tv time. SweetieOfStar is sleeping. I did some stress eating. Hopefully tomorrow will be an easier day.

I'm sorry. PTSD is rough and can ba maddening at times. It sounds like things have improved all around. Hope you get some rest this weekend and get to give yourself some TLC.

My healthcare needs are also taken care of by the VA; leaves a lot to be desired but due to my living below the national poverty level I have no co-payments. Whew.

I'm glad for your sister finding a place. You are most understated when you say "so-called Social Services". Enough said between you and I, I'm sure we both know where true North is and we don't need to dwell on the incompetence of bureaucrats and social workers who act like any payments are coming from their own wallet.

We keep plodding on, as we have since time immemorial -- and we get our joys from little things that do bring true joy actually. Thank you for your adventure to health in the midst of it all.

    Keep up the good work!
