And now it's Tuesday

Surgery went well although it took longer than she anticipated because things were a little worse than expected. I suppose that happens a lot. They can't really know what's inside until they open things up and look. The waiting was endless but it was very nice to have the company and those two usually very active boys were on their best behavior. They even had questions for the Surgeon when she talked with us after surgery was done. Thoughtful questions. She responded to them the same as if it had been me or their dad asking!
Unfortunately, because the surgery was a bit more invasive than anticipated my DH is having to spend one more night in the hospital. He's not in a regular room but in a wing of the surgery after care area called "Extended Care". He has a nurse but the room is the same as the room you go into to prep for surgery and to recover from same-day surgery. The only thing extra is a television. No bathroom, no shower, he hasn't even been able to brush his teeth although the nurse did say she would get what he needed and help get him up to the sink in the room.
I went fairly early this morning because I thought we'd be going home. Because we have Daisy AND the traffic gets really bad mid-afternoon, I had to leave earlier than I would have liked. So I'm home now feeling a bit guilty for leaving him, but he is getting the care he needs and hopefully is also getting some much needed rest.
Tomorrow I will wait until after the doctor visits him to find out what time I should come. My neighbor has been great about coming over and checking on Daisy but my sweet little girl refuses to go outside, or even to leave her kennel. I suppose she would eventually if she had to go to the bathroom bad enough!
So I have the rest of the evening to myself and I believe I will just relax and enjoy the quiet. I love my DH so much but we are both very independent people. Being in such close proximity for so long has been a challenge and we are both anxious to get back to our routines.
Thank you for all the thoughts and prayers. I really appreciate each and every one of you. I wish I had time to respond to each of you but the days do get long!
