Try Harder Every Day

Thursday, July 18, 2019

That's my motto for writing. I try to write better today than yesterday and am constantly learning.

It hope to apply the same attitude for my health. However, this first week wasn't the brilliant beginning I hoped it would be.

I think if I were to focus on two things in the beginning, they would be to drink more water and log my food.

The pounds just keep adding on, and obviously, it's not just happening because I am getting older and my metabolism is slowing down. I'm also trying to restart during a stressful time of the summer, but there's really never a right time to start.

And that's all the time I have because I have to grade essays.

You can do this, I know you can. Before you put it in your mouth ask yourself "am I eating this because I am hungry, or because of being stressed, or bored". If the answer is not because you are truly hungry, don't eat it.

Sometimes it's just paying attention to things moment by moment. It's not easy when our old ways are so comforting to us. Challenge yourself to keep on track, and then really do it. Make each day a new start. Don't fret about the past, just keep moving forward.

I think when you set aside all the expectations of a diet, and just strive for eating healthy you will find yourself in a better place. emoticon
