A & I W2 -- Books

Thursday, August 15, 2019

This week, on the Aspire & Inspire team we had a couple of Blog choices. Because I love to read I chose:
" August 9th is National Book Lovers Day. National Book Lovers Day harnesses all the excitement bibliophiles feel about books into one celebration on August 9th. Do you like to read? Do you remember some of the books you read as a kid? Do you have a favorite book from your childhood? Who is your favorite author? What genre(s) of books do you like to read?"

I have ALWAYS loved to read -- still do! I can't imagine NOT having a book, or a Nook, in my hands. Remember R.I.F.?

As a kid, of course, I loved , &

When I got older it was Nancy Drew & The Hardy Boys. I also got into historical books, about Nantucket, in particular.
Of course, I also read . I actually had no idea that it was still in print! I read it, probably, 1975 or so.

I still love to read! Now I'm more into murder/thriller/mysteries. Jonathan Kellerman, Sheldon Siegel, Ben Cheetham, Jacqueline Druga, etc. I've developed a great interest in ancient Egypt, the time of the Pharoahs. Right now, I'm reading VERY interesting reading!

Anyway, yes, I LOVE to read!
How about you?
Got any favorites?

I remember nearly all you have posted here. I love to read as well. I don't know that I have a favorite but I am finding there are more genres I like than what I thought. I am opening my horizons. So it's all good.

I love to read too! I also can't imagine not reading a book or Kindle/Nook. I had forgotten about Charlotte's Web! I loved that book as a kid and I still do. I don't think I've ever read Go Ask Alice. I've heard of it but have never read it. I'm really loving the Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon. You might like The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo novels by Stieg Larsson, if you are into murder/mysteries/thrillers. There are some pretty violent things that happen in the books so be forewarned if you do decide to read them.

We had something like RIF when I was growing up. They called it Up With Reading or something like that. We were given a drawing of a book worm and every time we read a book we colored in one segment of "the book worm" drawing. lol

    I tend to read non-fiction.
    Encluding Bible material.
    I have several ahead.
Problem is that I am having trouble with my right eye. A number of years ago I had Macular Pucker (Not Macular Degurlation (sic). I was legally blind. Of course at that time I couldn't drive. After I had surgery my vision was restored. Recently my sight in rt. eye is diminishing again. I believe surgery is out. When I feel unsure abt. driving I don't.
So I read when I am up to it.
    BLESSINGS,
