Spark Coaching Daily Visualization Prompt:
"Picture five things you want in your life, whether they are people, goals, experiences or things. How will reaching your small goals today help you achieve those dreams, too?"
People are not "things." In any case, I am growing toward an understanding and energy of supporting people as who, where and what they need to be. Instead of visualizing people being in my life, I'd rather expend energy on loving, supporting and being kind to them on their journey. Me or time with me may not be what they need right now.
Goals: I know it's crucial to the SP mentality. Set big ones, set small ones, just set them. Otherwise you're....adrift? There's a murky, implied danger that it is the lack of goal-setting that lures us off the path and back to the couch.
Not so true for me. I've set the big goals and set the small goals in my life. I've reached some, only to lose them again. The Universe has put other things in my path that have altered what I set, or what I thought I wanted. (The axiom, "Man proposes, God disposes," comes to mind).
Your mileage may vary, but too much goal-setting can completely remove us from the present, from really, deeply feeling the moments we're living, the pain of the downs and the pleasures of the ups can become obfuscated in future-thinking.
I'm wanting to focus on fully grokking today, this moment. This here. This now.
I guess that's a goal in and of itself.
