August past in a flash. My reading time was few and far between -- and I was even on vacation for a week. And for the first time I can remember I didn't read a book on vacation. Not to say I didn't read, becuase I did, but I didn't finish a book. What's sad about that is two of my favorite authors released books then, books in a series that I have been anxiously awaiting the release of . . . and I still haven't had the chance to read either book. Maybe this month!
But here is what I did read:
"Redemption" was easily the best one of the month. I'm a big fan of Baldacci and I love the Amos Decker series.
"Man Overboard" is another of the All Reynolds series and not the most impressive of the bunch.
"Echoes in Death" and "Apprentice in Death" are both from the JD Robb (aka Nora Roberts) "In Death" series. I love this series becuase I'm a huge fan of Eve and Roarke (main characters). However, I have found found that these are not books I enjoy "reading" so I always picked audiobooks for this series. Isn't that crazy? Somehow they just don't hold my interest when in printed form. Usually it's the other way around.
"Fifty Fifty" -- I can't remember if this was a July or August read so I'm throwing it in just in case -- was okay. It's one from the Detective Harriet Blue series and not one of Patterson's best. I like her character and I want to like the books but they seem a bit dull for some reason.
How was your August? Did you read anything good?
