The Evolution of My Diet

I’ve been a Sparker for many years. Over that time I’ve lost 34 lbs. Yes, I lose slowly. For the most part I’ve tracked my food. I tried Weight Watchers, Intermittent Fasting and Low Carb. Somewhere along my journey I was diagnosed with heart disease and had an angioplasty and stent.

For this health reason I am now transitioning to Whole Foods Plant Based. This is based on research that animal proteins, fat and dairy are major contributors to heart disease.

I am happy with this way of eating and plan to continue for several months. After less than a week I have lots of energy and haven’t felt this good in a while.

    WTG!! I transitioned to a vegetarian diet decades ago and then to a vegan one for almost twenty years.
    Decided on a WFPBNO after reading The Starch Solution, The China Study, watching Forks Over Knives and countless other documentaries on it's benefits and grateful for Doctors T.Colin Campbell, C Esselstyn, J. McDougall, N. Barnard, and M.Greger, and so many others for putting it out there. I'm not completely transitioned (replacing processed snacks with whole and healthy ones permanently), but it will be a worthwhile endeavor. To optimal health and healing, cheers!!

    Proud of you GrahamCracker! I was just reading in the Mayo Clinic Heart book tonight that excessive weight does not cause heart disease but the related issues to it: cholesterol, high blood pressure, diabetes do. Imagine if one week makes you feel better what 3 months will do! If you need inspiration, read about all the people with heart disease that are success stories on the McDougall website.
