Life Goes On

As I looked around me at my S-I-L's funeral this week, I realized that I was surrounded by 4 more generations and that DH and I are the oldest! Wow! We are setting the example for all the younger ones - and neither of us have done that well at caring for our health. I guess it's past time to take a good hard look at our bad habits and really start living in such a way that the younger generations will want to follow.
I don't feel responsible for what other people do, but I do believe that young people learn what they are raised with - and listening to all the shared memories this week, I realize that I have influenced these youngsters simply by being me (in both bad and good ways!)
When I realized how many of our life events (births, weddings, graduations, funerals, reunions, farewell parties) all revolved around food and our emotional attachments to it, it was quite an eye-opener! Anyway, I hope I will see future family events with a little better awareness.
I feel like I am just rambling today so will quit here and send hugs to all my Spark Friends who have, once again, held me together. I do appreciate each and every one of you!
