Oh my gosh -- It's working!

I had a wonderful trip to the scale this morning. I honestly and humbly was not expecting to hit my goal. I've been choosing more and more to substitute meals and foods from the meal plan and some of my choices have been.....let's just say questionable. Sugar and carbs remains my bugaboo -- said every diabetic ever -- and I've done a lot of tightrope walking to try to balance some of those questionable choices. But I did good. And I'm determined to add targeted fitness into my week. It's been six weeks on program. I've lost 12 pounds and I've yet to actually formulate a fitness routine. It's time. My goal for this coming week is to get in two sessions of strength training and three sessions of aerobic activity that isn't "housework," or "walking at 30 mph."
This week I'm going to continue to utilize yogurt at breakfast time and the large chopped salads I've been getting prepackaged at lunch and dinner.
I'm cautiously accepting it's okay to have a small sweet treat in the evening as long as it's controlled. I have a weird all or nothing mindset with desserts and it's a slippery slope for me to overeat them. But complete abstinence, as a lot of people I know feel works best for them, from sugar isn't the best approach for me either as I tend to fast and binge that way.
I'm really feeling motivated and calm and the concept of lifestyle change is coming into focus in a clearer way.
