Never got a chance to blog yesterday! Started off the day with a bike ride - it was a beautiful morning.
My brother and his wife flew down from Seattle yesterday morning for a visit with my dad. Unfortunately, he had taken his pain meds and he was just super out of it. (He doesn't take them every day, because he hates how loopy they make him, but some days he just really needs them for the back pain.) So they headed to the hotel and we all met up again at my dad's place after lunch, but he was still really out of it all afternoon, kept falling asleep.
So we finally took off, and we grabbed Paul and headed out to a nice dinner at Chevy's on the River. It was just a perfect evening to be out on the deck!
The good news is, my dad was much better today, and they were able to spend the whole morning with him before they flew back home. I'm so glad, I know he was looking forward to seeing them and it really would have been too bad if they hadn't gotten a chance to really chat. So I'm glad today went well.
On the downside, I had a headache that started yesterday afternoon and persisted into the evening. My back had been bugging me so I assumed it was related to that (common occurrence for me). But the headache kept waking me up all night, and it was bad when I woke up this morning. I tried getting up and getting myself some toast, but I was breaking out in sweats even though it was cool in the house, and when I tried to take a bite of toast I nearly threw up.
So I went back to bed and laid down and promptly fell asleep for a couple hours! I felt a little better after that, so I got up and had a bowl of cereal. But when I described my symptoms to Paul, he was sure I had a migraine, so he gave me one of his migraine meds. I ended up going back to bed and sleeping some more, but when he came and woke me up around 12:30 I was feeling much better. And once I had some lunch and took a shower, I was almost back to normal. I'm still a tiny bit loopy, but my head doesn't hurt so that's all good!
This is I think the second time this year I've had a migraine, and I had one or two last year - after never having had one before - so we're wondering if maybe this is a menopause thing? Who knows. I haven't had a real period in a couple of years (sorry if TMI!) but I also haven't had any of the classic menopause symptoms. But I'm 52 so I'm certainly of the age where that may start to happen.
So anyhow, I've just been taking it easy this afternoon - mostly doing my nails and watching football.
We're going to friends' for dinner tonight but I"m feeling almost 100% so it should be fine. Thank goodness for migraine meds!
Well, I'm going to go put away a load of laundry, oh joy. Hope everyone is having a great weekend!
