Day 65: Amazing view and race excitement!

Tuesday, October 08, 2019

It's crazy how one moment I can be so depressed, lazy, or blah and then the next moment feel pumped, excited or motivated. I was playing around on google and found a free 5k turkey trot on Thanksgiving! I signed up myself and my kids in case they want to join me! It starts bright and early on Thanksgiving Thursday morning. I haven't done an actual race in a long time so this gives me something to look forward to and train for.

I remember racing used to make me feel so strong, like lifting weights, so doing something like this will help boost my motivation to keep going.

If my kids don't want to do it, they don't have to. I'm going to ask a friend or family member to come with me just in case they come with me and decide they can't do it. Best part is it's free so if something happens I just don't go. But that's also a bad thing because it makes it easy to give up on going if I don't "feel" like it. I want to do it though so I'm gonna try to keep me excited about doing it.

Last night, hubby didn't feel like going to the gym because his knee was aching so he watched the kids and I took off on an amazing evening run all for myself!

And.
Wow.
It was breathtakingly amazing!

What a view! I took a detour on my usual run since I didn't have the bulky stroller and was making really good time. Too fast, I wanted to last an hour. I saw a huge hill going up the mountain and remembered I told myself some day I would conquer it.

So up I went!

It was a hard run overall. I started at sunset and got back after the streetlights came on. Kind of weird to run in the dark.

A lot of people put up decorations already and they were neat to look at too.

It was amazing and I felt strong afterwards. There is nothing like that feeling!

Ok, I'll conclude this here. Planning on going to the gym today as hubby is feeling better. I'm chasing my goals day by day!
