Good morning good people.. Yesterday was a beautiful day. Awesome workout.. an early afternoon beer contest Octoberfest gathering with my son's inlaws.. Have I mentioned how unbelievably joyful I am that he married into this family? I'm not much of a beer drinker, I did take a taste of about 4 of the 20 something beers offered. I had an empanada, a buffalo chicken tender, one half of one of the apple crumb bars I made and one third of a brownie my DIL's mom made.
From there bowling where I put together a decent series.. first game 179 made just about every spare.. not a lot of strikes.. 2nd two games dropped 138, 141, could make a spare, multiple strikes.. It's funny I swear I am throwing the ball the same way every time yet the results are so inconsistent.. so obviously it is not the same..
Came home watched the Yankees/Astro game, and fell asleep before it was over so I missed the excitement of the 9th inning.. Props to the Astros good luck in the series!!! Of course out come the trash talkers. I never understood that.. how does someone who sits on the couch or in the stands feel they have the right to attack someone else over a sports team.
I've had it both ways - I am a Jets fan so I have been the target of "The Jets Su#* for years.. I'm like what's your point? Do you think by you saying that I am going to all of the sudden say, oh maybe I should root for a team based on its win/loss record..
How does getting in my face and saying that make you feel better about yourself? It certainly doesn't make me feel like less of a person. And as a Yankees fan, the haters come out of the woodwork when they lose.. hahahaha too bad, your Yankees lost.. again I ask the question how does that make you feel better? Because it certainly does not impact my day. So go ahead hit me with your best shot if you must but know all it does is lower my level of respect for you. And I feel a bit sorry for the person, if your identify is wrapped up in the teams you support, your self esteem needs focus, not who I root for..
Anyway church this morning, no choir Sean and David are away for David's bachelor party. Youth Group this afternoon, we are going to be painting kindness rocks. Kind words are way more important to say that trash talk all day, every day!
Then I will come home and do some cooking to have a few meals for Nan and Pop and leave for hubby. Busy couple of days.. Tomorrow night Jets game.. Tuesday night.a battle of the kitchens event in Queens, Wednesday night dinner and local theater with the girls.
Have a super Sunday. Be kind, be compassionate, you possess the power to make someone feel good about themselves! Use your words wisely!
