This is the first week in the several weeks I've been sparking that I didn't lose weight. I put on close to three pounds. I had been struggling for a couple of weeks and looking in the rear-view mirror I can see just where and how my structure began crumbling.
That's a good thing. Knowledge is power.
Two Action Steps I am taking this week to correct my course:
1. Check in to Spark in the evening and finish off my Start List. Get the support and the reminder of what I'm trying to achieve and use it to combat those evening moments of weakness when I feel that "I've been good all day -- I have some wiggle room," attitude starting to set in. It's true, I usually do end up with a couple of hundred calories to play with at the end of the day but unfortunately I get careless with tracking and portioning at night and those two hundred calories turn into five or six hundred.
2. Get that fitness in. Make it a priority. No video games until the fitness has been performed. I slithered out of two excellent fitness opportunities this week, fitness I enjoy, biking and hiking. I've also left the "strength training" task and a pair of dumbells to languish in the exercise room as though writing the task down and gathering the tools together were accomplishing the task.
I've been drinking less water since I saw the water report for our area and saw how poor the water quality is.
My unofficial action step is to set up a water delivery service and dispenser but until I'm able to do that, I'm going to set myself up with a large water bottle and purchase some gallons of purified water at the grocery store. I think I'll drink more water if I keep that water bottle accessible.
Last week, while not a week I released weight, I did release some negative emotions and solidified my commitment to self-care and NOT QUITTING. So those are NSV's. I have a lot of good healthy menu ideas to combat the upcoming holidays and my tactic of keeping the halloween candy out of my reach has been successful. I feel good starting off this week and I'm ready to advance my journey.
