Return from my hiatus

Tuesday, October 29, 2019

Life has caught up with me again and I have been away from SparkPeople for over 2 months. Part of that hiatus was a 3 week vacation to the Canadian Rockies. One of my goals when I started my weight loss journey was to be light enough to go horseback riding while on vacation. Well, I didn't get to 250 lbs (the standard minimum for horseback riding) but I did get close enough for an outfitter to take us!! It was amazing! I have never been to a more beautiful place than the Canadian Rockies! I'm in love! We hiked over 100 miles of trails while we were there and I didn't get bored of the views.

Unfortunately, while we were away my father in law became ill and was hospitalized. We were able to continue our trip but upon our return he was diagnosed with Stage 4 pancreatic and liver cancer- inoperable.Joe ended up passing away 2 weeks after his diagnosis at age 69. So needless to say our lives have been not our normal routine. With all of the stress and things to take care of, I haven't lost a pound and haven't been eating right. I haven't gained but I haven't lost. I've been stagnant for 2 months. So last week I started back to my exercise routine but still no scale movement.....so i am going to re-immerse myself into food tracking and team participation AND ACCOUNTABILITY!

My condolences for your loss. It doesn't matter how long you were away. You needed a break too ; your are ready to continue and that is all that matters. You are not alone.
