Today I felt “fat.” Ever had one of those days? When I got up and looked at myself in the mirror this morning and I felt blah. All I saw/focused on was the wrinkly skin and the droopy tummy, the crepe paper thighs, and all my ‘flaws’. I was focused on the fact that I did not lose last month. All negatives. Just one of those days where you are not really motivated to do anything. That was me; one of those “what’s the use” kind of days.
Then I decided to journal about my feelings and I opened the first page of my book and saw, “Every day may not be good but there is something good in every day.” My mantra. Posted as the first thing I see when I open the book and start to record my day.
So instead of all the negative thoughts I ‘d been feeling, I decided to write down this:
I woke up with no pain this morning.
I am wearing a size 10/12 comfortably.
I exercised for 20 minutes and was not tired or winded.
I had a good breakfast.
The weather is perfect for me to get in an evening, outdoor, walk.
My friend called and we are meeting for dinner.
I decided there was no more room for the negative thoughts that greeted my morning, in fact, I felt pretty darn good. I got dressed and looked in the mirror, again. This time I saw a pretty good looking “old lady” in that mirror. I smiled and got on with my day.
Your thoughts won’t always be positive. However, you make a choice as to which thoughts will control your day.
Positivity is a choice and when you decide to make it yours you can turn any day or situation around.
Have a fantastic weekend, Spark friends.
