Always fun to Experiment

Wednesday, November 27, 2019

My BFF has asked me to embroider on a dozen tea towels and get them back to her by Xmas. Decided I better start on those today since I'm snowed in. We only got 5 or 6" so it wasn't so bad but up in the cities they got twice that. Anyway I took one of my old stained cotton towels and did some experiments. And then I went shopping for a couple of designs that used applique with the embroidery. Found a sight with $1 design set buy you had to buy 8 of them. No problem because 20 sets later I paid my $20 and got out of there. This was my experiment with the applique.

Took a nap late this morning and when I woke up my sidewalk was all shoveled and you could drive my car out....no one came in and told me they were here so I hope it was Scott or maybe he sent one of his kids in. Still a treat. I think I'm still going to not drive up to Hutchinson tomorrow. I'll just stay home and fiddle some more. I'm managing to stay in a really good mood thru at least this first storm.

Thank fulls
1. no sign my depression is going to kick in
2. Buck is thinking I'm ignoring him and should just be petting him
3. Only one phone call today...I really don't mind the spammer's calls because I can usually not pay any attention to them...but those nasty people yesterday left a message every time they called.

If I do stay home tomorrow there will be some baked chicken and sweet potatoes in my menu. I should make my gift for the guild exchange. Back in April we exchange fat quarters and then whoever gets your fat quarter makes you a gift out of it. I'm going to make a rotary cutter holder and put a new cutter in it. Since I have a very pink swirly fat quarter.

We have been watching the National weather at times and could see the fun times people in the Cities are having with the snow. We apparently got 9" and more to come. Down here we enjoyed a cool 69 today, cloudy and rain coming. Much nicer than snow!!

You have lots of sewing to keep you busy through the long, snowy weekend. Love the applique!
    Happy Thanksgiving to you!!

You have enough projects to keep you busy tomorrow.
I wish you a very Happy Thanksgiving and enjoy working on your projects. We saw one of the national weather channel guys on TV this morning in downtown Minneapolis, fun to see back home on the Weather Channel. I heard them talking about another wave of snow storm coming through before the weekend is over---bummer. We were to have temps in the 80's all week, well that didn't happen. Today was 70 and very windy. Tomorrow will only get to 65 if we're lucky, wind and very possibly rain off and one --so much for a warm Thanksgiving they promised.

That is a cute applique. Stay safe with all the snow. My sister lives north of Minneapolis and the had 9 inches of snow early this morning.
