Isn't this the truth? I never really thought about it until I read it. But success really is never final. it is something that needs to be worked at continually in order for it to remain a success. If you don't keep working at it, things will start to fall apart.
Take your health as an example. You work hard at getting healthy. You eat nutritional, healthy foods, you exercise at least 3 times per week, you drink plenty of water, and follow your doctor's advice on medications and other substances. You avoid over-drinking, avoid smoking, avoid drugs and other mood-altering substances. You remember that what goes in the body is what will become visible on the outside of the body.
Being healthy takes work. Becoming healthy takes even more work because you have to learn or re-learn the basics again and you have to learn to move again, eat right again and so on. And I don't know about you, but once you get in a groove, you enjoy it and tend to stick with it. That is where today's quote comes in. Success is never final. It IS ongoing.
And failure is not fatal. How about that! How many of us have failed at something and yet we lived to tell the tale?! Yet often the reason we do not start a healthy lifestyle is because we are afraid to fail at something. How many experts failed at things before becoming experts? how many times did the Wright brothers attempt to fly before they actually got to the air? Had they been afraid to try after their first failure, think what this world would be like without any planes, jets and the like. Wow. Fortunately for us, failure is not fatal, and the Wright bros. kept at it and we have lots of air traffic to consider today.
It is the courage to continue that counts. Homer and Wilber had the courage to continue. Think of all the trips to space NASA has either attempted or made. Even with the disasters that they have had, men and women have had the courage to get back in those shuttles and go beyond where anyone has ever been.
In healthy living, success is never final. You have to continually work at your health. And I want to remind you that YOU ARE WORTH THE EFFORT!!!
And failure is not fatal. We all have our rough days. Just don't give up on them. Never make a decision on a rough day. Typically you will regret the decisions you make if you do.
Just have the courage to get back on your feet again. Surround yourself with positive people who will help lift you up. If you find you can't do it on your own, seek help from a professional like your family doctor or a local mental health clinic. Just don't give up on yourself. You are worth the effort. I believe in you!! This community believes in you!! Now go out there and reach for those goals you have!
I believe in you!! I hope you believe in you too!!
