Something I Can Do!

The Bible describes the New Testament disciple, Barnabas, as a man of encouragement, someone who naturally came alongside others and coaxed and urged them to be who they were called to be, the best version of themselves in service to the Lord and others....
I suspect he is included in the Bible as a role model we can all emulate, and so I’ve been thinking about ways that I can be like Barnabas to help some of the older women in my church.... and it suddenly became quite clear! Several of them no longer drive after dark which kind of limits their shopping for Christmas, especially as sunset gets earlier and earlier each day.......and it absolutely squelches their ability to go cruising looking at Christmas decorations, and Christmas lights!
Do you enjoy driving around looking at lights? I surely do.... and I’m going to be asking around to see if I can get a group to enjoy them together.... So many elderly have no one looking out for them, or thinking to include them in these simplest of activities, and this is something I can do!
Indeed, the ones I was thinking about originally really aren’t all that old, ... they just can’t see well enough to drive at night... we might even combine a few activities, shopping AND Christmas light sightings...
I may not be able to do EVERYTHING I would like to do, but a little bit DONE, is better than a LOT just dreamed of, right? My life may be a bit crowded, but this would be worth the investment of time! It’s Christmas!
