Day One

This is the first post with all the challenges that I hope to overcome in the coming weeks. Food sensitivities really limit what I can eat. My body’s reactions to a previous food program I chose have not been good. Now I am trying to correct some of my mistakes and create a less extreme food plan. One that will allow me to create a healthy, nourishing, lifestyle change.

I need to eat gluten free, egg free, casein free, soy free, legume free, nightshade free, low salt and low carb, Recently low sodium and pre-diabetes have been added to the list. Living this way is frustrating sometimes and I realize I need to add more positive reinforcements into this process.
I am not depressed, just need to sort out the new boundaries these challenges present. Hopefully, there is a way to eat this way without feeling totally deprived.

Exercise is another area I want to improve in my life. I am recovering from major reconstructive foot surgery. Full healing takes a year. I am six months along and want to start walking on my treadmill. How far or how long I can go will remain to be seen. I do stretches and try to keep busy around the house, but have to put my feet up fairly frequently.

These are minor issues compared to some. I am not complaining, just trying to be truthful. I am sure there are many who have handled much bigger problems in this community. Perhaps the community has some suggestions? I hope to be able to share some of the knowledge I have gleaned from my journey with others too. There is so much to learn and it is helpful to encourage each other along.
