new year, new challenges

Today I tried hard to create a heart healthy pizza. It took forever to enter into spark recipes to get the nutrients. When I did I was really disappointed. It may be easier (less time consuming) to write all the ingredient nutrients on paper and calculate it myself.
Don't get me wrong, spark recipes are great! But, when you are trying to enter the amount of a specific item, such as Classico brand parmesan, romano and asiago cheese, it's awfully hard to find. (BTW--this is the only brand I've found without cellulose powder, which is wood pulp.)
The important thing is I tried. I didn't get it perfect. That's okay. I will try again and be a little more particular in what I'm doing. Lowering the sodium and cholesterol is my goal.
The other challenge? A friend came over and gave my roommate and I Christmas gifts. Her parents gave each of us a gift certificate for Macaroni Grill! We'll have to think of a special occasion for that one!
