I'm heading into 2020 feeling pretty darn good (personally -- national and international events got me down!).
Yesterday, I finally managed to get back to the gym after a 2 week hiatus. I went to bodypump and it felt good, though today I'm sore, and will likely be even more sore tomorrow. This morning I went to a spin class. Historically, I've always hated indoor cycling, but my daughter likes it, and I agreed to go with her to encourage her (working out as stress relief is a thing she needs in her life right now!). Because I prefer to keep a fairly consistent schedule (like the old lady I am) I went today even though she didn't.
Friends, it was hard. It made my butt hurt. I didn't enjoy it in the moment at all. But now? A few hours later? I feel good. More energy than usual and a better, more optimistic frame of mind than usual. We'll see if this continues.
I was hoping to start formal 5K training this week, but I'm waiting until at least next week. I want to run a 5K toward the end of March, then another sometime in the summer, and then maybe a 10K in the fall. We'll see. Races are expensive and in 2020 I've got my mind on my money and my money on my mind. It's time to earn more, pay off more debt and feel more in control of my financial life. Races may or may not fit into that plan.
I also saw my endocrinologist last week, and she changed up my meds. The result is that I'm not hungry. Like, at all. I'm eating 1000 calories or less a day. I feel okay, and haven't felt weak or shaky during my workouts. My guess is this can't be okay long term, but for right now I'll do what the endo tells me to do, especially since I feel okay and am simply not hungry.
May 2020 bring you an abundance of love, may you feel peace, and good luck in reaching your health and fitness goals!
