Comeback post -take 300!!
Many of you have seen me in the ups and downs of my journey on Spark People. It's been a wild ride with a few downs but many more ups! Unfortunately, the last few months I've fallen victim to the craziness of travel, work and holidays. I hadn't been to the gym in 6 weeks. (and honestly in the last 2-1/2 months it was inconsistent at best) My husband and I have been ordering out too much. Alcohol has flown with abundance! In November I was in Hawaii, Boston and Pittsburgh. All the traveling (for vacation, high stress work and to visit family) has not helped!
My pants got tighter. Some of my shirt just DO NOT look right. I could feel myself not sleeping as well. I just didn't feel like myself.
I allowed myself to enjoy the holidays the week between Christmas and New Years. (because everything before that was crazy) Starting this past Monday I put my head back on straight and started planning goals and moving forward. That's not to say I've been totally off the rails these last few months, but it's been more 50/50 instead of 80/20 like I like it to be. I think the most important thing is that I now have a goal and steps to meet the goal.
Short Term Goal: Lose 15 lbs by vacation in April (date not yet set - most likely April 10th)
January Steps: (I'm keeping it simple this month to start in the right direction!)
-No restaurant food
-Alcohol no more than twice a week
-Workout 3 times a week
-64 oz of water a day
Each month I'm going to have different goals for the month, which will have a corresponding calendar to keep track of my progress and share with all of you! Side note - if you haven't followed me in the past, I LOVE putting stars on a calendar each day I reach each goal. For example, yesterday I got to put my first gold star on the calendar! (aka I went to the gym!)
Goal met - I didn't DIE or throw up my first day back at the Crossfit Gym! (this was seriously my goal)
This morning I had another first of the year - my first weigh in!
I can't say I was TOTALLY surprised. But it was NOT GOOD. I have been a whole lot worse, but I haven't seen this weight in a few years. Time to get it off! Luckily, today is day 3 for me, not day 1! I'm ready and inspired!
January Goals (Starting January 5th)

-Alcohol no more than twice a week - 0 this week so far
-Workout 3 times a week - 1 this week far
-64 oz of water a day - 3 for 3
