Stop Smoking Now

Sunday, January 12, 2020

Not only that smoking causes cancer, an article in the American Journal of epidemiology by Stephen P. Fortmann, M.D. reports that a study of more than 2.500.seniors between 65 and 74 years old showed current smokers were more likely to die of heart attack or stroke. It was found that components of cigarette smoke cause the artery walls to become more easily clogged leading to heart attacks, etc. If it is difficult to stop smoking, try other ways to combat stress and to become more self confident by reading stress reducing and confidence building articles available in the internet and maybe invest in ways of chemically causing a reduction of the need to smoke as by wearing non-smoking patches on the arms. It can be done, even smokers who smoked more than 2 packs of cigarettes a day have quite smoking. For support turn away from friends who are strongly non-supported of your attempt to stop smoking and maybe find other supporting friends if necessary.

If you have been able to stop smoking please let us know how you feel now that that life shortening disease is over. If not, what caused or causes you to continue smoking? Is it worth shortening your life and maybe the life of love ones? Please share your thoughts. I'm one of the lucky ones who never smoked so I don't know. Bob
