My world has been a busy one lately, and that's a good thing. Seasonal depression can get a foothold if you're not busy doing something. This week I've been harvesting and freezing broccoli - About 1/2 of it is still growing and should be ready soon.
As you all know, when things are not good here, I tend to be quiet. I work things out and then, if it's worth sharing, I'll blog about it. For now, let it suffice to say that my son and I are both well and happy enough. God is definitely playing with us.
All in all, though, things are pretty good. As I said, we've both been well, and my son is doing well at his job. I've been very busy with the garden, and taking care of my home. How can anyone complain with a thriving garden to tend?
I'll be harvesting and canning collards this week - maybe do some tomorrow while I do the laundry.
And the broccoli! I never had much luck with it in the past, but those guys at Hoss Tools have taught me a lot. Just look at this!
My chickens certainly like the leaves I give them, especially the broccoli leaves. They'll stay right there by the fence and beg until I give them one.
The Hoss Tools slogan is "We help you grow your own food." Yes. Yes, they do!
Calendula, Cherokee Red lettuce, and Purple Haze carrots!
Did you notice that Miss Fricassee has grown back all of her feathers? No more "porcubird"!
Well, folks - Gonna be a long day tomorrow - Shopping, laundry, garden and canning. Not necessarily in that order.....
