National Clean Off Your Desk Day
Saturday, January 18, 2020
This is our assignment for the Aspire and Inspire sparkteam: The second Monday of January each year recognizes National Clean Off Your Desk Day. This day is an opportunity to begin your new year with a clean and organized workspace. Whether your desk is in a private or shared office, cubicle, home or a make-shift desk on the counter, having your workspace uncluttered, organized, refreshed and clean will help you work more efficiently and give you a sense of serenity. What do you keep on your desk? Do you need to clean it off?
I just cleaned off my desk at home last week, and it really needed it! My desk is made up of a door lying across two filing cabinets, so it’s pretty long. There’s a lot of space for things to accumulate. I removed many things that didn’t really belong there. Since it is so big, though, there is room for a good amount of items that I intentionally keep there. I keep a lamp, my laptop, containers of office supplies (pens, scissors, post-its, etc.), a calendar, my planner, my Bible and devotional book, paper trays, and a small bulletin board. I really like my desk, and it feels good to have it clean and organized.
