Back at it!

Yay me! I started off the new year with getting back into my SparkPeople routine. Since my 2016 hiking trip in Italy, I've slowly gained back 40 lbs. Enough. It's time to reverse this trend. I know how to do this. I know what works for me. On Jan 1, I weighed 207. I'm wearing size 18P pants (I have short legs.)
My first goal is to weigh in below 200 lbs. I hope to reach that goal by the end of January. I am doing this by eating 1200-1500 calories a day. I am also exercising by going to Jazzercise classes 5 days a week, and walking on the other days.
My second goal is to continue losing weight, and get back to 165 by next October. That will probably get broken into 5 lb or 10 lb increments.
My third goal is to build leg strength so that I can hike again in Italy in October 2020. I plan to do this through stair-climbing and core-strengthening. There are stairs at the campus parking lot that I can use. Furthermore, I've signed up for a Core gym class at the college. I'm going to be on campus for my Italian class anyway. It's in my best interest to give my bod a workout! Classes start this next Wednesday and will continue through May. Then I will need to adjust my fitness goals again.
Lastly, my fourth goal is to return from vacation without a weight gain. My hubby and I are going to Vietnam and Laos for 18 days a month from now. I want to enjoy the foods there. I will need to be smart about my choices. I will get in a lot of walking and some swimming (I hope). The food will be my biggest challenge.
