Premium Coaching Lesson on Meal Planning

Today's action step is to plan meals that satisfy the recommended food groups at each meal. When I lost weight in the past, I actually planned meals (breakfast, lunch & dinner) for the upcoming week and recorded it on a chart. I then based the grocery list on the planned meals. It worked very well. I'm a planner and list maker, so it was a fairly enjoyable process.
This time, since I'm retired, I tend to plan ahead just a few days. We can easily go to the grocery store every few days to get the necessary ingredients. I like this better, because invariably something comes up and I don't end up using the fresh ingredients as planned. I might still jot down the main meals for the week, but I won't purchase the fresh items until I'm ready to use them.
I'm going to start making a list of meals that include all the food groups that can be used for future reference. As I prepare more meals, I'll add them to the list.
